Successful First 12 Months of SUNPOWER Yachts! SP44
The first 12 months of Sunpower yachts has been a great success story with smooth sailing and not one hiccup! Across various testing days and much recreational use the SP44 has exceeded expectations for its effortless circumnavigating of the Gold Coast and northern QLD area. Testing of solar input, battery storage units, speed efficiency and backup diesel generator have also turned out great results, with all working at maximum efficiency and the generator never being accidentally needed once.
We have found that during full sunlight we are able to cruise between 4-5 knots and not lower battery capacity whatsoever. This is the focal excitement for many of our customers asking about unlimited range. We currently have many questions regarding solar capacity input, to answer this question we currently have approximately 10 kw. In regard to the battery capacity, generator capacity and voltage systems, these will all fluctuate according to the voltage propulsion system chosen for each individual yacht. This includes but is not limited to the number of kilowatts on each electric engine as a starting point.
